Tyninghame Village Hall
Christmas wreath-making workshops
Sunday 6th of December 2020
Having taken advice and considered all the available guidance on keeping safe during the COVID19 pandemic …. It’s Good News!!
We believe that we can run our very popular Christmas wreath-making workshop but in a new format with two options – a wreath-making workshop or a DIY wreath-making kit with instructions and a demonstration on Zoom.
If you would like to take part, please register for either the Workshop or DIY Kit using the Eventbrite links below:
Option 1: Workshop in the Hall, Sunday 6 Dec, 1-4pm. Register here
We will set up the hall using a Café-style table service format to minimize interaction and ensuring that the tables are distanced and the hall is well ventilated. You will need to book a table for an hourly session (approx) to make your wreath. Tables can have a maximum of 6 people and 2 households. Everyone will be required to wear a face mask and comply with hand hygiene requirements.
Sadly, we will not be able to provide food and drink this year, but please feel free to bring a flask of coffee or tea and your own goodies. We will do our best to create a good Christmas atmosphere with an open log fire, Christmas tree and cheesy music!
Option 2: DIY Christmas wreath kit, collection Sunday 6 Dec, 10-12noon with zoom call demonstration in the afternoon, time tbc Register here
For those who are not able to attend a workshop session, or not comfortable with the workshop format, we can make up a wreath-making kit that would include all that you need for the basic wreath. We will also be offering both written instructions and a Zoom tuition session. Kits these should be pre-ordered and collected from the Village Hall on the Sunday morning.
As usual, we will collect fresh greenery from Tyninghame House and Gardens and will provide a range of foliage, wreath frames, wire, twine, berries and gold and silver spray. Whichever format you prefer, you will need to supply your own ribbons and festive decorations to personalise your wreath. You will also need your own secateurs and gloves as some of the greenery can be quite prickly.
Please register using Eventbrite. We will use this information to work out a programme for the afternoon workshop.
Who knows we might even run a best wreath competition!!
We suggest a donation of around £10 per wreath. All funds go towards the upkeep and refurbishment of the Village Hall and running community events.
