Community events and activity groups
Craft and Connect
This is an informal gathering in the hall every Thursday 7pm-9pm. It’s an opportunity to come together for a chat and some crafting. All ages and abilities or none. Donations are welcome for tea and coffee.
Our sessions have started again as restrictions ease and we are able to set the tables up in the hall to allow for social distancing.
Please note that the day for meeting up is subject to change once restrictions have fully lifted. Further details are available by emailing email@example.com. If you wish to join the Craft and Connect WhatsApp group contact Zelia Carreira Bowles on 07484 676301.
Local History group
A local interest group has recently been formed to bring the history of Tyninghame to life through researching Village Archives and Kirk Session records together with stories from local families. The group plans to create artwork and a timeline in the refurbished hall which will reflect the history of Tyninghame. If you are interested in being part of this group either because you have an interest in Village history or you have some artistic abilities that could contribute to this project or indeed both please get in touch by contacting Carol Crowther at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our pub night, BYOB for an informal gathering to discuss … well, anything! Keep a check for our regular themed pub nights. 2nd Friday of the month 7.30 – 10 pm. We hope to resume our pub nights with the first one being held on Friday 6 August 2021.
This is typically a group of 4-6 people from Tyninghame and neighbouring communities. The walks are suitable for all levels of fitness and normally take about about 2-3 hours maximum. Social distancing is observed during the walks. We would recommend that you carry a face mask and bring your own refreshments. Weather permitting, we meet outside at the bus shelter on Main Street at 1:30pm for the group walk. This is a great way to fulfil the need to be with others yet at a distance and outside. If you wish to join the WhatsApp group and be kept informed, contact Erica Wimbush on 07732062777.
Under the current guidelines for Scotland outdoor activities are permitted for groups of up to 30 people. Please see the following link which has guidelines for large groups but can also apply to all of us. Ramblers Restart for Group and WFH Schemes 30 July

Village Hall Events
A series of three concerts: This was a new and exciting venture at Tyninghame Village Hall in 2020. This series of 3 tea concerts showcased young musicians former and current post graduate students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow as they embarked on their careers. It gave us the chance to enjoy a 45 minute concert in an intimate setting along with a chance to chat to the young musicians about their instruments and their music over tea and cake and muffins. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? We hope to hold more of these events as restrictions allow.
