Tyninghame Candles

Dec52025
All-day event

By popular demand, Candles & Canapés is back for all you East Lothian crafters and this year we’re going bigger, brighter and letting you bring your own booze in.

Two formats, double the fun, all happening at Tyninghame Village Hall.

First up, our family-friendly afternoon tea and candle painting.
Think cakes, sandwiches, hot chocolate and coffee to keep you cosy while you paint three candles each.
Bring the kids, the grandparents, the cousins- everyone’s welcome as long as they can hold a paintbrush without eating it.

Adults and teens are £22pp, little ones under 12 are £15pp.

Festive spirit guaranteed.

If you want to come along to the evening event but the kids fancy the afternoon event, you are more than welcome to come along and supervise FOC them and pop back in the evening for your turn!

Then, once the sun goes down, we get serious.
The evening event, Candles & Canapés, is officially infamous. It’s BYOB, it’s social, it’s your chance to paint four candles while grazing on foodwithjooj’s insane canapés.
Come as a group, come solo, either way you’ll leave merry.

Tickets are £45pp.

These events always sell out (you lot don’t hang around) so if you fancy a bit of festive crafting, tasty food and some drinks of your choice, then get in quick.

We can’t wait to welcome you 💫

Summer Village Fair for Tyninghame Village and friends

It’s that time of year when the schools have gone back, the holidays are almost over, and our thoughts are turning Autumnal. It’s also the time of year for our Village Funday.

Our Village Fair will kick off at 2pm on Sunday August 17th and all residents’ friends and families are very welcome. To help with planning the activities please message Carol if you plan to be there, and are bringing children/friends/family.

We won’t be having a Bric a Brac stall this year, but we do have activities planned for both the very young and the young at heart and it will be great to have folks join in!

Please note that your entry ticket of £2 can be exchanged for a cuppa or a cold drink where you can then sit, in the sun and enjoy the afternoon.

As always, we hope to have lots of home baking to purchase – to take home or if you can’t wait to have on the day surrounded by your neighbours and friends. The baking stall is always very successful, reflecting the amazing bakers in the village, and we will be happy to receive any contributions from scones, biscuits, fairy cakes to larger cakes. Rae will post a message with baking drop off arrangements on the village WhatsApp group or if you want to help and are not on the WhatsApp group then you can contact Carol who will advise.

The ever-popular bottle and jar tombola will be stocked yet again with treats and token prizes suitable for all. Donations for this activity are always welcome.

Last year we had some very imaginative contents from rice, pasta and lentils to socks, crayons and jewellery and of course beer and wine, so put your thinking hats on and have fun filling a jar with something amusing or if time is short buy a jar or a bottle, let your imagination fly!

Please note that alcohol will be accepted and that the bottle stall will be kept separate from the general Tombola. Jars should be filled with goodies that will suit both adults and children from 3 years and upwards.

This will hopefully be a day of fun activities, come in fancy dress if you want, create amazing bubbles, join in the games, follow the treasure trail and dip your paws in the treasure chest, have your face painted or try and beat the goalie.

Well behaved family pets are welcome as long as you tidy up after them and keep them on a lead.

For more information, please contact Carol via the Tyninghame Village WhatsApp or on 07581 460 733
